Superfusionlab is an RIBA Chartered architectural practice combining research, design and construction with academic achievement. We put great effort into studying new materials and construction techniques to ensure that our vision is materialised with care. Function and beauty are the desired effect. Our projects vary in size spanning from furniture to masterplans, always challenging architectural concepts. We engage in architectural competitions in order to test new ideas and expand our design research. These ideas are then studied in terms of their buildability and materials and evolve into solid construction techniques. The commissioned projects use this competitive approach to develop their continuous productivity in building. The practice is a collaborative laboratory. In each project we cooperate with consultants and experts in varying fields in order to refine the fitness of the design. In this process we have generated architecture that bridges the gap between what is possible using age-old techniques and those born of future industry and fabrication. Our projects will continue to push the boundaries of production while keeping a firm understanding of craft and beauty in construction. Alongside the professional practice we have a continuous role in teaching and academia. This allows our theoretical side to develop and expose the firm to the next level in architectural thinking while keeping up with current ideas and trends. Superfusionlab have exhibited extensively, including the ICA and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Our work is presented worldwide, most recently in Sydney, Nebraska and the 7th Greek Biennale in Athens. |
