The Building Smells @ Gallery Gaite Lyrique • Completed: 2012 • Design with Hide&Seek (Game Designers) • Design Team: Nathaniel Kolbe, Lida Charsouli, Nikoletta Poulimeni • Location: Paris, France The installation is part of a series of interactive games where the Building senses its visitors by four senses: sight, hearing, smell and touch. A parametric gaming experience is designed for the CNC cut routes that lead to the Nose of the Smell sense. Parametric Design: The game consists of 3 different routes, risk (shown above), skill and puff. Each route has its own difficulty and its own parameters in terms of design. The risk course required four different islands, two bridged together. The bumpy start of undulating surface of short hills and valleys is followed by the short dip and a jump of the second island.
